HELLLLLO TODOS!

greeeetings from my first area hospitalet 1! It’s basically right outside barcelona. friday EARLY morning we left on a bullet train from madrid to barcelona. and there were president and hermana hinckley to greet us right when we walked off the train. NBD just was greeted by the prophet’s son. as a tradition he takes all the noobs to motejuc. WHAT A VIEW. it over looks the whole entire city of barcelona. he told us about colombus and the prophecy that nephi gave in the bom and then told us colombus’ own words to describe his experience.. basically how it was the sprit guiding him to find the americas and how this was all preparation from heavenly father to have a land of religious freedom to resotre his gospel. he then took us back to the mission home for lunch. just chilllen with the prophet’s son.....after lunch we went straight to the local chapel to get assigned our area and our trainer! dun dun duuuuuun.....my trainer’s name is hermana cruz. i don’t really know her too well yet but she’s cool. the training program is a 12 week program. so i think that means i have her for the next three months. the only problem is she loves singing before EVERYTHING. and as we all learned in the MTC we know what my voice does to the spirit...it kills it. so we were assigned companions and then they excused us and just threw us right into everything. we left and she goes are you ready for your first lesson? we have one in like 30 minutes.....ummmmmmmmmm no I’m not. i also leaned that after my first couple dinner appts that mom you are INDEED a good cook. I’m screwed. bright side- i will not be having a weight problem, i can assure you of that. does anyone remember that one episode of friends where rachel makes that english truffel and joey has to teach everyone how act as if they enjoyed the food. thank goodness for that episode............my ward is good and everyone is really nice. they all are SO good with referrals. we were at dinner saturday night and he just hands us a name and number of someone who said they want to be baptized. my favorite members name is leo. he LOVES eminem. he doesn’t know any english but he told me he was trying to learn so i offered to help him. he pulls the phrases out of his wallet that he needed help with. and this is what it said....you better lose yourself in the music the moment......which is YES an eminem song. then he rapped it for me. he leaves for a mission in june to malaga. he's looking for a wife so i offered up sam. he's totally down for it! so I’ve been here about three days and i have ALREADY done the thing that i was dreading most........ley de castidad. we have an investigator freddy who is getting baptized on saturday and we had to teach him about chastity.....first explain what is meant by sexual relations....."so i can’t have sex?" uhhhhh..........."what if my girlfriend wants to?" uhhhhh........... THEN later that night i was talking to recent convert of like a month who proceeded to tell me all of his problems he has wit the ley de castidad. THANKYOU BUT I AM NOT YOUR BISHOP. i really did die a little inside.

so i don’t really have the grasp on anything yet...i’m only four days into this. my spanish is surprisingly fine though so that doesn’t bother me....the only thing that i struggle with is making elongated conversations with it at like a dinner apt or something. toda ofr pday we are going into barcelona and I’m not exactly sure what we are doing yet. to be honest i really don’t want to be here right now. It’s the biggest roller coaster ever one minute I’m fine and literally the next I’m freaking homesick like none other for family and my friends. i can’t seem to get past this homesickness so I’m not really sure what to do there. thankyou for all the letters and stuff that you sent here though. they were the best!!!! we are splitting up our internet time cause my companion likes to hear from her family later in the day... so please if you get this before then PLEASE say hi!!!!!!!!!! i miss all of you!!!
